The company has introduced a high-discharge lithium cell formulation aimed at reducing internal resistance and improving ion transport. Their 1300mAh 6S battery pack reportedly delivers continuous discharge currents exceeding 130A, ensuring stable power output in demanding flight conditions while minimizing voltage drop.
Topway has also adopted a low-resistance electrode manufacturing process that boosts conductivity and reduces heat generation. This technological advancement is designed to enhance flight efficiency, extend battery life, and ensure consistent performance during extended high-load operations such as drone racing and aerial filming. To cut down on weight, the batteries incorporate ultra-thin aluminum-laminated packaging and a reinforced structural design that improves impact resistance without adding unnecessary mass. This design is claimed to enhance the power-to-weight ratio while increasing durability for outdoor use.
An integrated battery management system plays a crucial role in maintaining battery health by providing active cell balancing and safeguarding against overcharging, over-discharging, short circuits, and other electrical faults. This system also facilitates fast charging and helps prolong battery lifespan. Topway asserts that its battery packs can retain over 80% of their original capacity after more than 300 charge cycles and are engineered to function in ambient temperatures as high as 60°C. A typical 14.8V 1300mAh lithium polymer battery weighs less than 175 grams while supporting burst discharge currents exceeding 200A for short periods.
