Hotel Okura will open The Okura Resort Hakone Gora in 2029—its first resort property in Japan. Developed by Nishimatsu Construction, the hotel will be located in Gora, Hakone’s famous hot spring region.
The resort will feature 58 rooms, all with private open-air baths fed by Owakudani Hot Spring water. Designed by Gwenael Nicolas of Curiosity under a “Forest Hideaway” concept, the property blends seamlessly into the surrounding nature.
Facilities will include a fine dining restaurant, teppanyaki, a bar lounge, an indoor hot spring area, saunas, and treatment rooms. Guests will enjoy expansive mountain views and easy access from Gora Station.
Hotel Okura aims to bring its signature omotenashi hospitality to one of Japan’s most beloved destinations.
