He stressed the significance of maintaining stable economic and trade relations and called for expanding areas of cooperation while minimizing existing issues.
The discussions between Xi and Trump also covered the development of artificial intelligence, with both leaders acknowledging the need for ongoing dialogue and collaboration in this area. Xi advocated for the responsible development of AI and the prevention of its misuse and abuse.
The leaders exchanged views on several major international and regional issues, including the situations in the Middle East, Ukraine, and the Korean Peninsula. They also confirmed that China and the U.S. would support one another in hosting significant international summits in 2026.
