Trump’s 48-Hour Warning: Israel’s Ally Pressures Hamas as Netanyahu Sets Terms

by admin477351

Donald Trump has given Hamas a 48-hour deadline, warning on Truth Social that he is “watching very closely” for the return of more Israeli hostage remains. As Trump applies pressure, his ally, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is setting his own terms for the peace.

The remains exchange has stalled, with Hamas returning only 18 bodies. Trump noted that “for some reason, they are not” returning bodies that are reachable.

As this crisis tests the truce, Netanyahu declared Sunday that Israel will have a full veto over the international peacekeeping force, stating, “Israel will determine which forces are unacceptable to us.”

The US supports this. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, visiting Israel, said the force must be “comfortable” for Israel.

The truce was also shaken by an Israeli strike on the Nuseirat camp, which Hamas called a “clear violation.”
